While fire is always a risk in Baja, most fire prone scenarios can be mitigated with standard fire extinguishers. However, elevated caution will need to be exercised at all times whenever dealing with gasoline and other fuels. At BajaSAE Alabama 2009, we will allow hot work (welding, grinding, etc.) in the paddocks, both in and around the trailers. Therefore, for the greater safety of all, teams may not keep gasoline in their paddocks or trailers at any time on Saturday (Dyanmic Events), or Sunday (Endurance). The Endurance Race refueling area will be available for use during Saturday (Dyanmic Events), and Sunday (Endurance). All gasoline will be held in the Endurance Refueling Area and will be monitored by Refueling Area Marshalls.
